THIEF RIVER FALLS — Sierra Benning scored a team-high 11 points and Lindsay Monson pulled down 10 rebounds as the Central Lakes College Raiders lost to Northland 55-40, ending their season 10-16, in Saturday’s Region 13B semifinals.
The game was tied at halftime, but Northland outscored CLC 36-21 in the second half.
“Northland came out in the first five minutes and they got up by 10 right away,” said Raiders head coach Dennis Eastman. “From then on it was trying to battle and battle and we couldn’t get back.”
CLC battled Northland and lost 77-58 at the Raiders last home game Saturday, Feb. 23.
“I was proud of them from where we started to where we ended it,” said Eastman.
Lindsay Monson was named All-Northern division and All-Minnesota College Athletic Conference first team. Sierra Benning was named All-Northern division and All-MCAC second team, and Taayler Egeness notched an All-Northern division honorable mention.
