Brainerd defeats Roseau, advances to section championship game
Chris Pohlkamp’s goal at 10:37 of the third period snapped a 3-3 deadlock and the Brainerd Warriors went on to defeat the Roseau Rams 4-3 in a thrilling Section 8-2A semifinal Saturday night before one of the largest crowds in Brainerd Area Civic Center history.
The win advances Brainerd to its second straight section final appearance. The second-seeded Warriors will play top-seeded Moorhead at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.
Jake Ellingson scored two goals and Pohlkamp added another as Brainerd won its sixth straight game.
Warriors goalie Kyle Helmberger stopped 40 of 43 shots.
