The Brainerd Warriors shot just 17 percent from the field and dropped a non-conference game to Moorhead 67-39.
Maria West finished with a team-high 10 points for the Warriors.
“The Girls played hard, but we couldn’t make a shot,” said head coach Brian McAllister. “We gave them too many offensive rebounds and they converted on too many of those second-chance opportunities.”

So we decided to take my family to the game lastnight. I figured my daughters needed to see a girls game. We left early, the girls looked defeated. My husband and I felt bad for them. How could a coach totally destroy a program in 3 years. Bring back Coach Henny. This coach keeps blaming it on the girls missing and turnovers, you have had them in your program for 3 years, its your job to make them better players. The finger pointing should be in your mirror.
This coach has destroyed the Girls Basketball Program
I agree with CLCalumni. It has gotten worse every year since he took over. It's as if they have never played basketball and yet we know that is not the case. Whatever is going on to build team chemistry or build skills is not working. I feel bad for these girls, especially the ones who have put in their entire high school time playing for him (although it sounds like most of the older girls quit which is another sign....). Let's hope our athletic director has the guts to pull the plug on this guy. Isn't that his job to prevent or fix these situations? I can't imagine this coach has much parent support does he?
