Area Boys Basketball: Pillager nips Henning in two overtimes

PILLAGER — EJ Ziegler turned in 20 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Pillager Huskies to a 62-60 double-overtime win over the Park Region Conference-leading Henning Hornets Tuesday.

Aaron Jacobson added 17 points and eight rebounds and Devin Strack scored 11 points for the Huskies, who had lost 66-48 to Henning Jan. 17.

Pillager is in second place in the PRC at 8-3 (15-7 overall) while Henning holds on to first at 9-2 (17-4 overall).

KIMBALL — Ben Boser’s 8-foot jumper with one second left was the game-winner for Pierz as the Pioneers nipped Kimball 51-50 in a Central Minnesota Conference game Tuesday.

Mitch Bednar’s 17 points led Pierz, and was followed by Boser’s 10.

The Pioneers had also defeated the Cubs in overtime in January.
