Feb. 21 at Little Falls

Little Falls Schools, in conjunction with the Yellow Ribbon Network of Morrison County, announces that Feb. 21 will be Military Family Appreciation Night.

On that night, military families and veterans are invited to attend the Flyer boys basketball game against Rocori.

Any veteran or family member of a deployed soldier who would like to receive a free pass to the game, should call the Flyers activities department 320-616-2207 for details.

■ LAYSA Brainerd Blast

registration under way

Registration is open for the Lakes Area Youth Soccer Association Brainerd Blast Summer Competitive Soccer.

Teams will begin practicing in April and compete in soccer tournaments in the lakes area, the Twin Cities and other locations into early July.

Registration is also open for the April 6 Icebreaker indoor tournament at Forestview Middle School gym in Baxter. This tournament is open to ages 7 through 18 and draws nearly 40 teams from across the state. The Blast welcomes players from the lakes area and surrounding communities.

■ Warriors seek nominations

for hall of fame

The Brainerd High School Hall of Fame was founded in 1985. Since then numerous Warrior greats have been enshrined.

All nominations come from the public.

Brainerd has a long and rich history of pride in athletic competition and accomplishments. The school and community wants to remember, recognize and honor the outstanding achievements and contributions with a hall of fame.

The nominee must, during and following his or her career, have exemplified the pride and spirit that is Brainerd athletics.

Nominate as many as you wish in any of three categories:

A. Player: Must be a Brainerd graduate and out of high school at least seven years.

B. Coach: Must have coached in District 181.

C. At large: Any member of the community who has made significant contributions to BHS athletics.

Induction will be April 29 at the annual all-sports banquet.

Send a typed or written resume of the candidate, including present home address, email address, phone number, years of service and accomplishments. Please enclose your name and address.
