AREA GIRLS HOCKEY: Eggena, Lightning advance to 6-1A semifinals

BREEZY POINT — Kaylyn Eggena scored four goals and collected three assists to lead No. 3 Northern Lakes in a 10-0 rout of sixth-seeded Morris-Benson in Saturday’s Section 6-1A quarterfinals.

Hannah Zimmerman added two goals and an assist for the Lightning while Alex Palm, Lexi Danielson, and Isabella Abear also scored goals.

Kat Jensen picked up the win, kicking away the eight shots that came her way as the Lightning beat M-B for the third time this season.

DETROIT LAKES — Randa Larsen netted a goal in overtime to lift No. 4-seeded Detroit Lakes past No. 5 Long Prairie-Grey Eagle/Wadena-Deer Creek 3-2 in Saturday’s Section 6-1A quarterfinals.

Hailey Mass and Zara Einerwold each scored for the Blue Devils while Angela Hanson blocked 33 of 36 shots.

Einerwold tallied an assist as the Blue Devils finished their season 7-18-0.
