Area Boys Basketball: Pirates rally to down W-DC

VERNDALE — Dallas Ehrmantraut and Marcos Gomez each recorded 16 points to lead the Verndale Pirates, who rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to edge Wadena-Deer Creek 62-54 Thursday.

James Kveton added 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Josh Gilb secured nine points and 10 boards for the Pirates.

Dylan Dumpprope led the Wolverines with 16 points followed by Jacob Goeden’s 15 and Jared Reinitz’s 10.

LITTLE FALLS — Collin Eckman tallied 20 points to lead the Little Falls Flyers over Foley 74-60 in Thursday’s Granite Ridge Conference game.

Bryce Zawatzke totaled 13 points and 11 rebounds and Jake Scott scored 14 for the Flyers as they won their fourth straight.

Little Falls has now won six out of their last seven and owns a 10-1 conference record.

SEBEKA — Sebeka’s Derek Lillquist hit a basket with 1.4 seconds remaining to lift the Trojans to a 53-51 non-conference victory over the Pine River-Backus Tigers Thursday.

Both teams were looking for their second win of the season.

PR-B’s Zach Struss scored 16 points and Henry Krecklau added 10 points.
