Aitkin High School will host the Section 2-1A dance team tournament Saturday, Feb. 9.
Ten teams will compete for the opportunity to move on to the state tournament. The top three teams in Jazz and the top two teams in High Kick will advance to state at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Schools competing include: Aitkin, Brooklyn Center, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, Duluth Marshall, Mayer Lutheran, New Ulm Cathedral, Norwood-Young America, PACT- Charter, Richfield, and Spectrum.
Doors will open for spectators at 11 a.m. with the opening ceremony at noon. Jazz competition begins at 12:15 p.m. High Kick competition begins at 2:10 p.m. with awards at approximately 3:45 p.m.
The state tournament is Feb. 15-16. Jazz teams compete Feb. 15. High kick teams compete Feb. 16. The state tournament begins at 11:30 a.m. both days.
