The Brainerd Warrior dance team will compete in the Section 4-3A tournament Saturday, Feb. 2, at Elk River High School.
The top three teams in each category at the section meet will advance to the state tournament.
Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for students. Spectators may enter through the Door A entrance. There is a large parking lot for spectators.
Tickets will go on sale at 10:15 am. Spectators will not be allowed in the gym before 10:45 a.m.
There will be no saving/reserving seats. Spectators must be present in order to secure seating. There will be a section reserved for judges and for the host school.
Last year, the Warriors finished first in kick and third in jazz, making it to state in both.
“We have never been higher than second in our section in jazz, but this year we think we can do it,” Warriors coach Cindy Clough said. “We have been placing high and the jazz and kick teams are looking strong.
“We have come out ahead of everyone in our section at various meets, so we are hoping to do it on the day that counts — sections.
“We hope to have a huge Brainerd fan section to cheer us on. Sections are the most nerve-wracking and exciting day of the season.”
