Area Boys Hockey: Moe, Lightning take down Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE — The Northern Lakes Lightning gave up the first goal, but scored the next four in a 4-1 win over Cambridge-Isanti Tuesday.

Ben Moe tallied two goals and two assists and Kegan Couture collected one goal and two assists for Northern Lakes. Aspen Florey’s goal at 2:46 of the second period was the eventual game winner.

Mitch Stangel kicked away 41 of the 42 shots he faced.

BAGLEY — Wadena-Deer Creek’s Christian Berg recorded a hat trick and Bridger Pettit finished with two goals and four assists in an 8-5 non-conference win over Bagley-Fosston Tuesday.

The Wolverines placed 41 shots on net, while Wesley Janson collected 24 saves in the W-DC win.

LITTLE FALLS — Flyers goalie Mike Stumpf was peppered with 44 shots, but managed to turn aside 41 in Little Falls 3-1 Granite Ridge Conference loss to the St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders Tuesday.

Ben Newman netted the only Flyers goal with assists from Austin Bjorge and Matthew Stumpf.
