AREA GIRLS HOCKEY: St. Cloud breaks Lightning's win streak

BREEZY POINT — The Northern Lakes Lightning saw their six-game winning streak come to an end Tuesday with a 4-2 loss to the St. Cloud Icebreakers in a non-conference game.

Kim Jessen and Kaylyn Eggena netted goals for the 10-7 Lightning. Jessen’s score gave Northern Lakes a 1-0 lead in the first period. Eggena pulled her team within 3-2 with 55 seconds left before the Icebreakers scored an empty netter to end the Lightning comeback.

Goalie Kat Jessen turned aside 25 shots for Northern Lakes.
