ST. FRANCIS — Bethany Cressman’s 20 points helped the Lake Region Hornets to a 61-40 victory over Cambridge in the championship game of the St. Francis tournament Saturday.
Cressman added nine rebounds, five steals and four assists helping her to the tournament’s Most Valuable Player honor.
Marlee Moore finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots and Emily Beltran added 12 points and nine assists for the undefeated Hornets.
Lake Region beat Prior Lake 50-24 in Saturday’s semifinal. Cressman scored 15 and Moore added 12 points

PEQUOT LAKES — Despite Kayla Miller’s 17 points, the Pequot Lakes Patriots suffered an 84-46 loss to Class 2A’s fourth-ranked Esko Saturday.
Vanessa Lane added 11 points, followed by Jessica Kreitz’s 10 points for the 8-5 Patriots.
Claudia Turner tallied a game-high 24 points for Esko, which has won 10 straight after opening the season with a loss to Class 4A’s top-ranked Hopkins.

Melissa Moenkedick notched 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Wolverines, who had won their last two games and four of their last five before Saturday’s loss.
