BIWABIK — Savannah Stone raced to a second-place time of 1:14.90 to lead the Brainerd Warriors girls to second in Thursday’s Hibbing Invite at Giants Ridge.
Stone finished .26 seconds behind last year’s state champion, Megan Danelski of Hermantown.
Hannah Moen finished 13th and Ashley Fitterer placed 16th for the Warriors.
“We had a good day with the girls team,” said Warriors head coach Jim Ruttger. “It was a much anticipated meet as we were up against last year’s state champion Hermantown. A lot of girls came through today.”
Ben Thoele raced to a 23rd-place time of 1:31.25 for the Warriors boys, who placed eighth.
