AREA BOYS HOCKEY: Little Falls improves to 9-1 following rout

LITTLE FALLS — Ben Newman and Mark Anez each found the net twice as Little Falls routed Willmar 6-1 during the second day of the Flyers’ tournament Friday.

Austin Bjorge and Luke Majerle also scored for the 9-1-0 Flyers.

Matt Stumpf notched two assists while Thomas Miller, Spencer Fenske, Newman, and Bjorge also collected assists.

Michael Stumpf kicked away 16 of the 17 shots he faced.

Wadena-Deer Creek 1

WADENA — Mike Behl’s first-period goal gave the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines a 1-0 lead, but it was short-lived as St. Paul Como Park scored the next eight goals to claim the championship at the Wadena-Deer Creek tournament Friday.

The Wolverines put 30 shots on net, and goaltender Wesley Janson finished with 23 saves.

Tom McCullough scored four goals for the Cougars.
