BAXTER — Bethany Cressman scored 30 points to pass the 1,000 mark in her career as Lake Region

downed Karlstad 63-25 Friday.

Cressman joins Lindsey Green and Ashley Kientzle as 1,000-point Hornets. Green finished her career with 1,188 and Kientzle with 1,004.

Emily Beltran added eight points and 10 assists for the Hornets, who shot 58 percent from the floor.

AITKIN — The Aitkin Gobblers, led by four three point field goals from Madison Newton, had four girls finish in double figures as they dispatched Onamia by a 59-7 score in a Great River Conference game.

Newton tallied 12 points, and Melissa Paulson was next with 11. Megan Welshons and Cassie Sandberg each finished with 10 for the Gobblers, who led 31-5 at the half. Aitkin allowed the Panthers just one field goal in the game.
