Central Lakes College has accepted a bid to play Glendale Community College in the Valley of the Sun Bowl on Dec. 1 in Phoenix.
The eighth-ranked Raiders (10-1), who will play in a bowl game for the fourth consecutive year, are looking forward to a rematch against the No. 19 Gauchos (7-3). Glendale beat CLC 23-13 in the 2010 Valley of the Sun Bowl.
“We are excited and eager to represent our college well at this destination event,” Raiders coach Greg Medeck said in a news release. “Our players have worked hard and deserve the opportunity after such a great regular season.”
CLC captured the MCAC state championship Nov. 4 with a 33-23 win over Rochester. It was the second Raiders state title in four years, the first coming in 2009 in overtime against the Yellowjackets.
