BAGLEY — Abby Palmer pounded eight kills and scooped 10 digs while adding three ace serves and two blocks as the No. 2 Pequot Lakes Patriots fell to top-seeded Thief River Falls 3-0 in Tuesday’s North Subsection 8-2A championship.
The loss snapped the Patriots nine match win streak and came at the hands of a 24-5 Prowler team that they had not faced this season.
Katie White added 17 set assists, seven kills and five digs for Pequot Lakes while senior Sabrina Aldin concluded her high school career by contributing 17 set assists.
Pequot Lakes ended their season with a 21-6 record.
“We had a good season despite the fact that we didn’t play our best in this game,” said Patriots head coach Kate Dale. “Overall we played well this season and I think Pequot Lakes volleyball has turned the corner.”
