VIRGINIA — Aitkin’s Claire Browning was the singles runner-up and teammates Lisa Anderson-Malinda Lahmann-Sharbonda finished third in doubles in the North Subsection 7-1A tournament Wednesday.
Katelyn Rice of Eveleth-Gilbert beat Browning 6-0, 6-3, in the championship match.
Anderson-Lahmann-Sharbonda lost to E-G’s Aimee Allen-Chelsea Judnick 6-1, 6-3, for third place.
The top four in the subsection advance to the section tournament Tuesday at Duluth.
