College Volleyball: Despite offensive struggles, Raiders beat Mesabi 3-1

VIRGINIA — Lindsey Monson pounded 17 kills and Tiffany Hartung notched 43 set assists as Central Lakes College edged Mesabi 3-1 in Northern Division play Friday.

“For the first time in a long time we struggled offensively,” coach Jane Peterson said. “It wasn’t a beautiful win, but by the end our energy came through.”

Carlie Sweet led the team in blocks with 10 while Sarah Miller contributed 22 digs for the Raiders.

CLC was ranked sixth in NJCAA Division III heading into the game.
