PARK RAPIDS — Staples-Motley’s Mikayla Wing improved to 12-3 overall as she captured the No. 1 singles championship in Saturday’s Mid-State Conference championship.
Wing wasn’t the only Cardinal celebrating a No. 1 finish as S-M swept the singles titles and Linsey Johnson-Nikki Edin won the No. 3 doubles title helping S-M to a team victory.
Grace Wolhowe, Emily Israelson and Sarah Koopmann all finished 2-0 for their singles titles.
Ellie Erholz-Lauren Bengston won the No. 2 doubles title to help Pequot Lakes to second place as a team.
Vanessa Hudrlik-Jessica Dauer finished second at No. 2 doubles to lead Crosby-Ironton to fourth place and Wadena-Deer Creek, led by Macy Hartman’s third-place finish at No. 1 singles, finished sixth.
