PEQUOT LAKES — Journee Howard had 14 kills and 42 set assists for the Pine River-Backus Tigers as they went 2-1 and finished second at the Pequot Lakes Invitational Saturday.
Brittany Kelley had 12 blocks and 20 kills and Megan Felthous collected 19 kills for the Tigers.
Pequot Lakes, which beat Parkers Prairie for third, won two of three matches. The Patriots received 22 kills from Abby Palmer, 15 from Kayla Miller and 10 from Rosie Mitchell. Katie White contributed 27 set assists in the tournament, which was won by Onamia.
