GIRLS TENNIS: Cards hand Warriors first conference loss

Posted: September 4, 2012 - 11:44pm

ALEXANDRIA — Rosemary Hunter picked up a win at No. 3 singles for Brainerd as the Warriors were edged by Alexandria 4-3 in a Central Lakes Conference meet Tuesday.

Megan Hintz-Caitlin Steffen and Morgan Steffen-Natalie Comeau picked up doubles wins for Brainerd.

“We did lose, but if you look we had three tie-break matches (in singles play),” Warriors coach Ellen Fussy said. “We have some things we need to work on, but we’re proud of Rosemary Hunter.

“We’ll see Alexandria later in the season so we better prepare.”
