AREA GIRLS TENNIS: Rangers add two more victories

Posted: August 24, 2012 - 10:19pm

PIERZ — Crosby-Ironton picked up two more wins in Friday’s Pierz triangular.

Mariah Oren and Abby Gindorff in singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Shannon Lundgren-Meredith Silgen each won two matches for the Rangers.

Claire Browning recorded two more wins at No. 1 singles to push her season record to 8-0 as Aitkin dropped dual meets to Pierz and C-I.

“Claire was able to counter the defensive play of Tarynn Kasper and the offensive play of Gabrelle Hudrlik and use her strengths to make her opponents move on a hot day. She’s a very smart player,” said Aitkin coach Cindy Walz.

Pierz went 1-1 in the triangular, with Kelsey Moulzouls picking up two wins at No. 4 singles.
