BROWERVILLE — Staples-Motley eliminated Wadena 8-3 in the losers bracket of the District 6 Division II tournament Friday before it was eliminated following a 2-1 loss to Albany later in the day.
Mark Kossan pitched all seven innings against Wadena to pick up the win and also made a good showing at the plate with a double, single and RBI.
Jordan Wick contributed three singles and Austin Redemske ripped a bases-loaded double for three RBIs.
Against Albany, Redemske scored the only run for S-M on a squeeze bunt by Kossan in the second inning. The one-run lead held up until the fifth when Albany scored two runs on three hits.
