Robert Bell of Pierz, Mitch Means of Brainerd and Nick Forsberg of Staples all made the cut Tuesday in the 109th MGA Amateur Championship at Hastings Country Club.
After the third round, Bell, who is playing out of the Les Bolstad Golf Club, sits in a tie for 15th place with a three-round 223. He shot rounds of 79, 70 and 74 to put him 10 shots behind first-round leader Frederick Van Rooyen, of Les Bolstad Golf Club, who shot rounds of 72, 68, 73 for an even par 213.
Forsberg is sitting in a tie for 46th place with a 230. The Staples-Motley graduate fired a 71, 75 and an 84.
Means, who is playing out of the Pines at Grand View Lodge has rounds of 77, 76 and 79 for a 232 which puts him in a tie for 53rd place.
The top 63 players made the cut.
