T.J. Graumann pitched a complete game shutout as Brainerd’s sophomore VFW team blanked Litchfield 4-0 in the first game of a doubleheader Friday.
Graumann allowed just two hits while striking out 11. Brainerd had just four hits, but doubles from Nate DeChaine and Logan McElfresh sealed the victory.
The teams tied Game Two 5-5. Dillon Solid started and went six innings, allowing five runs, just two earned. Beau Janousek pitched two scoreless innings to complete the 8-inning tie.
Brainerd leadoff batter Luke Zontelli was hit by pitches in his first four at bats and Brainerd’s offense was efficient, using just four hits to score five runs.
