ST. CLOUD — Michael Strain claimed medalists honors and Nick Forsberg tied for second to lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals to a first-place 311 on the wind-swept St. Cloud Country Club Thursday at the St. Cloud Apollo Invite.
Strain shot 74 for the win followed by Forsberg’s 75, Andrew Isrealson’s 79 and Trent Hagenson’s 83.
Brainerd’s Michael Foley shot a 76 to tie for fifth place. Tommy Olson was next for the Warriors with an 80. Thomas Stoxen and Aaron Rich both fired 85s to lead the Warriors to seventh.
Pequot Lakes finished 13th and were led by Nevin Greer’s 82 and Cole Bliss’ 83.
