MOORHEAD — Concordia College junior Kaari Jensen of Pierz won the heptathlon at the MIAC Outdoor Championship Track and Field meet Saturday.
On her way to winning the heptathlon, Jensen turned in five different top 10 finishes – four of which all came on Saturday.
She opened the meet by placing fourth in the long jump Friday.
Jensen started her busy Saturday by winning the javelin with a personal-best throw of 131-0.0. That mark was more than eight feet farther than the next competitor.
In the triple jump, Jensen finished eighth with a distance of 36-8.25 – another season best.
She then placed third in the 110-meter hurdles and fifth in the 400 hurdles. Both of her finishing times in the finals were season bests.
Jensen finished off Saturday by leading off Concordia’s 4x400-meter relay team that placed third.
