PINE RIVER — Lexi Hanson threw a two-hitter and went 3-3 with a triple and two doubles to lead the Pine River-Backus Tigers to a five-inning 10-0 win over Laporte in an Upper Mississippi Conference game Monday.

Wadena-DC split

WADENA — MacKenzie Holst doubled once in the first game and twice in the second as Staples Motley split with Wadena-Deer Creek Monday in a Mid-State Conference doubleheader.

Avery Jackson, Melissa Moenkedick, and Michaela Lehmkuhl each had a double for WDC in an 11-10 second-game win. The win came in the bottom of the seventh, when Staples had a one-run lead but committed three errors to allow Wadena-Deer Creek to get the win.

AITKIN — The Aitkin Gobblers and Pine City Dragons combined for 45 hits in a Great River Conference game Tuesday.

Nine errors did the Gobblers in as they fell 25-21 to the Dragons.

Mikaela Michaletz went 4-5 with a double, home run and four RBIs, and Jozee Fossom finished 3-5 with an RBI for the Gobblers.

Alyssa Ohman collected the win for Holdingford, striking out nine in seven innings while giving up only one hit, a double by Hopkins.
