AUSTIN — Bryan Yackley allowed no earned runs in 4.2 innings in a 2-0 second-game loss and Central Lakes College was held to five hits in the third game as No. 2-seeded Riverland beat the Raiders 8-0 in the decisive game of a Southern Division playoff series Saturday.
The second game resumed Saturday after a tornado warning halted it Friday.
Seventh-seeded CLC, which finished 9-42, only made three errors in the last five games of the season. And, in four of those five games, no Raiders pitcher allowed more than one earned run.
“We played very well to finish off the season, the guys stepped up on pitching and defense,” CLC coach Pat Held said.
