LITTLE FALLS — Joey Hanowski blistered the net with five goals, three of them unassisted, to lead the top-seeded Little Falls Flyers past No. 9 Morris/Benson 9-2 in the quarterfinals of the Section 6-1A tournament Tuesday.
Alex Nelson and Austin Bjorge tallied two goals each to wrap up the scoring for the 17-9 Flyers, who had lost their last three games of the regular season.
Little Falls finished with a 54-17 shots-on-goal advantage and goalie Mike Stumpf steered aside 15 shots.
The Flyers take on No. 4 Sartell in the 6-1A semifinals 6 p.m. Saturday at the Municipal Athletic Complex in St. Cloud.
Sartell defeated St. Cloud Apollo 4-0 Tuesday in the quarterfinals. The Flyers shutout the Sabres 4-0 Jan. 19 in regular-season play.
