A pair of goals by Emily Stark kept Brainerd/Little Falls close for two periods, but the Flying Warriors cooled off in the third losing 6-3 to Class 1A’s 19th-ranked Alexandria Cardinals in a Central Lakes Conference game Thursday at Brainerd Area Civic Center.

Three third-period goals by Alexandria’s Becca Illies sealed the win for the Cardinals, who outshot Brainerd 11-5 in the final period.
Brainerd’s Jodi Bertrand registered 24 saves.
