Area Wrestling: Pioneers pin loss on Mille Lacs

PIERZ — The Class 1A 10th-ranked Pierz Pioneers crushed Mille Lacs Area 60-13 for their 10th straight win in a non-conference match Friday.

Chris Ortman, ranked eighth at 120 pounds, pinned Tim Kent in 52 seconds and Nathan Tomala, ranked fourth at 170 pounds, won a 13-8 decision.

In addition to Ortman, seven other Pioneers won with pins beginning with Kolton Eishens at 106, Evan Woitalla (113), Alex Julich (145), Brad Meyer (152), Trent Davis (160), Dustin Waytashek (195), Ryley Smude (220) and Travis Johnson (285).

Brandon Sullivan won by technical fall at 126 and Nick Lochner took a 12-4 major decision at 182 pounds as the Pioneers improved to 12-3.
