GRAND FORKS, N.D. — The Brainerd Warriors suffered their second loss of the season and were shutout for the first time this season losing 5-0 to the undefeated Grand Forks Red River Roughriders in the semifinals of the Jason Stadstad Tournament Thursday.
Cody Jennewein scored twice for the Rough Riders who led 3-0 after the first period.
Kyle Helmberger started in net, but was pulled at the 10:43 mark of the first after Grand Forks’ third goal. He was replaced by Jared Stearn who surrendered the final two scores in the second period.
The 9-2 Warriors play the Bismarck Demons 3 p.m. Friday for third place.
