Eleven Pierz's lucky number vs. Flyers

PIERZ — Eleven was the lucky number for Pierz on Thursday night as Michaela Rocheleau, Lindsay Monson, Megan Boser, and Alyssa Boser each scored 11 points in a 67-54 victory over Little Falls in non-conference action.

Lisa Langer led the Pioneers, who shot 41 percent from the field, with 12 points.

For the Flyers, Whitney Weisz totaled 18 points while Jamie Jenks chipped in with 15. Mariah Burns also finished in double figures with 11 for Little Falls, shot 32 percent from the field.

PERHAM — Chelsey Bonsante scored nine of her team-leading 24 points from behind the arc as the Crosby-Ironton Rangers defeated Perham 53-49 in non-conference basketball action Thursday.

Shannon Lundgren also finished in double figures with 13 points for the Rangers.

Crosby-Ironton trailed by one point at half-time before coming back in the second half, with 58-percent shooting from the field.

MOUNTAIN IRON — The Pequot Lakes Patriots were narrowly defeated 52-51 by Class 1A’s sixth-ranked Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers in Thursday’s non-conference game.

The Patriots have lost five of their last six games, four by three points or less.

Pequot Lakes (2-5) plays Red Lake Falls at the Walker-Hackensack-Akeley Wolfpack tournament at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.
