Jenna Ruzich, Baxter, currently attending University of Minnesota, Duluth, finished 2nd in the Youth Women’s eight-kilometer race shooting 2,4,1,2 and finishing in 37:19 as the second place woman overall during the MN Biathlon’s season-opening race at Mt. Itasca.
Ty Hadrits, Brainerd, finished second in the Youth Men’s 9.6-Kilometer race shooting 1,3,1,2 in a time of 36:00 even. Hadrits was third overall in the Men’s event.
The next race is Dec. 17-19 at Mt. Itasca, where the final selection for the US IBU Cup Team will be selected for the January IBU races in Europe. Youth class athletes will take part in the first two events of that series, then leave for Anchorage later in the month for the Youth and Junior US team Trials for the Youth World Championships to be held in February in Finland.
