Cathedral rallies past Little Falls

LITTLE FALLS — The Little Falls Flyers led 3-1 after two periods, but gave up four goals in the final stanza, three on power plays, and lost 5-3 to the St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders in a Granite Ridge Conference game Tuesday.

Scoring goals for the Flyers were Michael Holthaus, Ben Newman and Luke Majerle. Newman’s goal came short-handed in the middle period and gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead.

Cathedral outshot Little Falls 32-22 with Flyer goalie Michael Stumpf making 27 saves.

RICHMOND — Connor Chambers scored a pair of goals and the Northern Lakes Lightning came close, but failed to pick up their first win of the season, losing 5-4 to River Lakes in a non-conference game Tuesday.

Also scoring for the Lightning were Andy Sorben and Ben Moe.

Joey Bergquist made 40 saves in net for the Lightning, who were outshot 45-36.
