Brainerd defeated Sartell 3-1 and Sauk Rapids 3-1 Nov. 12 at Jack's House in Brainerd to win the conference tournament and a trip to the state tournament Dec. 3 at Alexandria.
Against Sartell, Sam Larson and Robert Stange led the Warriors with 88.9- and 83.3-percent fills.
In the championship match against Sauk Rapids, Brainerd lost the first game 204-187 and won the next three, 231-195, 244-157, and 254-202 in a best-of-5 game match. Larson and Steve Warta led Brainerd with 100-percent fills followed by Stange with 87.5 percent.
Larson and Warta had a perfect day with 16 and eight strikes in a row and no opens. Larson had 22 of 26 possible strikes for the day.
As a team, Brainerd averaged 229 against Sauk Rapids.
Larson was named to the all-conference team along with four bowlers from Sauk Rapids, and one bowler each from St. Cloud Apollo and Cathedral and Milaca.
Warta was named to the all-honors team for leadership, dedication and sportsmanship.
