Brainerd defeated Sartell 3-1 and Sauk Rapids 3-1 Nov. 12 at Jack's House in Brainerd to win the conference tournament and a trip to the state tournament Dec. 3 at Alexandria.
Against Sartell, Sam Larson and Robert Stange led the Warriors with 88.9- and 83.3-percent fills.
In the championship match against Sauk Rapids, Brainerd lost the first game 204-187 and won the next three, 231-195, 244-157, and 254-202 in a best-of-5 game match. Larson and Steve Warta led Brainerd with 100-percent fills followed by Stange with 87.5 percent.
Larson and Warta had a perfect day with 16 and eight strikes in a row and no opens. Larson had 22 of 26 possible strikes for the day.
As a team, Brainerd averaged 229 against Sauk Rapids.
Larson was named to the all-conference team along with four bowlers from Sauk Rapids, and one bowler each from St. Cloud Apollo and Cathedral and Milaca.
Warta was named to the all-honors team for leadership, dedication and sportsmanship.

Congratulations Guys and Good luck in Alexandria. We also need to remember to congratulate the Brainerd Warrior JV Blue squad for winning the conference tournament as well. It came down to Warriors JV Blue versus JV Silver and Blue won the day. I dont know the kids percentages for the day, but I know they bowled very well and had a lot of fun.
