DETROIT LAKES — Staples-Motley sophomore Jaelin Beachy won the 50-yard freestyle and finished second in the breaststroke during Saturday’s Section 8-1A meet.
Those two feats advanced her to the Class 1A state meet.
Beachy won the 50 free in 25.56. She swam a 1:08.53 in the 100 breaststroke for second.
Beachy helped the 200 medley and 200 free relays to sixth-place finishes.
Kali Klimek was also on those two relays and finished sixth in the 200 free.
