DETROIT LAKES — Jaelin Beachy’s two victories highlighted the Staples-Motley Cardinals’ fourth-place finish Friday at the Mid-State Conference championship.
Beachy won the 50-yard freestyle in a personal-best time of 25.34 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.04. Beachy, broke Beth Morris’ (Park Rapids) record of 1:10.52 set in 1997.
S-M’s Kali Klimek finished fourth in the 500 free and the Cardinals’ 200 free relay of Beachy, Josie Erickson, Lynnea Iverson and Klimek placed fourth.
