CASS LAKE — After the game was delayed more than an hour because of lightning the Pillager Huskies bolted past the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers for a 46-0 North Star Conference East win Friday night.
The opening kickoff was delayed about 35 minutes and the game was delayed another half-hour plus later in the first quarter.
Pillager sophomore Nick Ruhl rushed for 163 yards and two TDs. Jeff Flickinger ran for 125 yards and also scored twice. Travis Richards and sophomore Connor Uselman rushed for the other TDs. Adam Obermiller caught a TD pass.
Quarterback Matt Doss completed 7 of 9 passes for 128 yards and a score. He also kicked four extra points.
The Huskies, who had 573 total yards to CLB’s 53, have won five straight. In that span they have outscored opponents 217-39.
