GIRLS TENNIS: Patriots dominate, capture title

WADENA —  Tricia Villella and Haley Wiebolt won gold medals in their singles divisions and the doubles teams of Nicci Hedtke-Ellie Heggerston and Ellie Erholtz-Lauren Bengston-Whitney Swenson took gold in their doubles categories to pace Pequot Lakes to first in the Wadena Lions Tournament Saturday.

Pequot’s Kaycee Nelson and Jaden Lindner finished second in singles as did Taylor Crocker-Carly Fyle at No. 2 doubles.

Team scores: 1- Pequot Lakes 18, 2-Osakis 16, 3-Crosby-Ironton 5, 4-Wadena-Deer Creek 3
