Nisswa rider Colton Sturm was honored as the Midwest Snowmobile Race Association’s No. 1 Hillcross Pro driver at its banquet last weekend.
Sturm, riding a Ski-Doo, won the Pro 900, Pro Open and Ultra Pro classes and was third in Pro 800 points.
The events were raced in Minnesota and Wisconsin from February through the first weekend in March. Sturm finished in the top five in every Pro final. With the win he also was awarded the No. 1 plate for next season.
Robert Lange of Pequot Lakes, also on a Ski-Doo, capped off his rookie Sport class season by winning the Sport 700 class and was second in the Sport 800 class. Lange plans to move up to Semi-Pro next season.
Steve Sherwood of Pine River finished the season in second place in the Vintage class points chase on a 1980 Polaris TX.
