STAPLES — Taylor Toman went 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBIs to help the Staples-Motley Cardinals edge Park Rapids 17-16 in the first game of a Mid-State Conference doubleheader Tuesday.
Megan Vetsch was 2-5 with two RBIs and Ashley Jenniges was 2-2.
In the second game, a 6-4 defeat, Toman was 2-4 with an RBI, Kelli Roline was 1-2 and Claire Uhlman was 1-1 with a run scored.
