Former Aitkin wrestling coach Noel Bailey will be one of six individuals honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Minnesota Chapter Banquet on April 16.
Bailey, who will receive a lifetime service award, coached for 35 years, mostly at his alma matter in Aitkin. He compiled a 269-149-1 record and guided the Gobblers to the 1988 state consolation title and 11 district titles. He coached 29 state placewinners and is a member of the MWCA and Bemidji State University Halls of Fame.
Others honored will be Mike Good, Fridley; Doug Dahl, Greenbush; Richard “Dick” Maher , Harmony and Blue Earth; Bill Sutter, Goodhue; and Jeff Swenson, Augsburg.
The banquet will be at the Holiday Inn in Austin. Social hour and silent auction will begin at 4 p.m., dinner at 5 p.m. and program at 6 p.m.
