BOYS HOCKEY: Flyers win in OT

LITTLE FALLS — Hunter and Joey Hanowski assisted Ben Newman with 7:13 elapsed in overtime to lift the Little Falls Flyers past the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm 3-2 during Thursday’s Central Lakes Conference game.

The Storm, now on a five-game losing streak, held a 2-1 lead after two periods.

Joey Hanowski found the net with 8:58 remaining in the third setting the stage for Newman’s overtime goal.

Mark Anez scored the Flyers first goal of the game and Mike Stumpf batted away 21 shots.
