BRAINERD/NISSWA AREA

Squaw Point and Wilson Bay on Gull or North Long, Round Lake, and Lake Edwards are producing northern pike in eight to 22 feet. Sunfish are being caught at Nisswa Lake, Cullen Lake, and Round, while crappies are being found in eight to 22 feet at Hubert Lake, Round, and Steamboat Bay on Gull.
LAKE MILLE LACS
East: After a “slower” weekend of walleye fishing, the bite picked up again early this week on the deep gravel and mud. You have to stay on the move with spoons in 28 feet or more during midday hours and slide up shallower during low-light periods. The deep water off most mud flats is holding tullibees and perch are being found on the rock reefs and points in 15 to 20 feet and on the deep mud.
West: Walleyes, tullibees, and perch are most active in 32 to 34 feet off the sides of Sherman’s Flat, Seguchie’s Flat, and Eight Mile Flat. You will find a few active walleyes on top of the flats during low-light periods. Northern pike are being taken in nine to 12 feet throughout St. Alban’s Bay with tip-ups and large minnows.
LEECH LAKE AREA
Anglers continue to fish spots that they can get to due to the snow and slush. That means looking for perch in eight to 12 feet off Sand Point and Pine Point.
