Defense requests mistrial for second day in a row

LITTLE FALLS - Judge Douglas Anderson denied Byron Smith's defense attorney's request for a mistrial for the second time Wednesday.
SARTELL - Four extra-base hits powered the Brainerd Warriors to a 6-4 win over the Sartell Sabres in the second game of a Central Lakes Conference doubleheader Tuesday.
Tory Miller tripled and scored in the first inning.
Maddie Franz picked up both wins and Brainerd remained perfect in the Central Lakes Conference as Warrior bats exploded for 38 hits and 32 runs in defeating Sartell 13-3 and 19-0 in Tuesday's doubleheader at Adamson Field in Brainerd.
DRIVING COMPLAINT - A report April 15 of a driving complaint involving a vehicle traveling into Crosby from Ironton. Officer eventually located the subject vehicle on Second Street Southwest and identified the driver.
TEAM MAKES RECOMMENDATIONS ON OUT-OF-HOME PLACEMENTS
A Crow Wing County commissioner will now join an expanded screening team, which reviews cases where a child may be removed from their home.
The screening team makes recommendations to the court.
