45 arrested after riot in Mankato
  MANKATO (AP) -- Sixteen people were injured and 45 people were arrested after revelers got out of hand Saturday night during homecoming weekend at Minnesota State, Mankato.

  The high school shooting case in Cold Spring has renewed the debate over the best way to handle juvenile offenders.   ST. PAUL (AP) -- The Minnesota Army National Guard is poised to leave its flood-prone helicopter base in St. Paul, possibly for one of three outstate cities that are lobbying hard to get the base's 110 full-time military jobs.

State loan to NWA has grown
  MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- In 1992, Minnesota taxpayers loaned a troubled Northwest Airlines $270 million. Well, Northwest is still in trouble -- and after 11 years of payments, its tab with the state has actually grown by $12 million.
